In most cases the traditional enterprise is slow to adapt to emerging trends. However more smaller more agile companies are taking advantage of technology and the enterprise now needs to react faster to emerging trends and new technologies to stay competitive.
Here are 3 technologies companies should leverage into powerful business solutions:

 1. GPS Location Marketing

Have you ever noticed that when you drive by an AT&T store or a Starbucks that you suddenly get coupons or alert texts hitting your phone?
Companies who have implemented GPS location based marketing have snagged a powerful tool. They are able to capture more visitors simply by making users aware. Telecom agents offer a solution that allows you to set a geographic area and target potential customers with texts, coupons and even the ability to check-in. This technology can be huge advantage and the possibilities are endless.

  2. Wireless Conference Rooms

Any respectable company will have a conference room where it can bring teams together to discuss strategy. In the past, displaying images and video involved clunky solutions with wires, cables and connectors splayed across the meeting space.
Now, meeting rooms are following Internet connectivity into the wireless era. With an Internet connection, a laptop and a cheap IP camera you can even bring in remote users for video conference without the need for a bunch of clunky and expensive equipment. Cloud based applications give you the ability to collaborate ideas and use any user device.

 3. Cloud-based File services

Small businesses such as a law office accumulate a lot of files that need to stored and shared. That used to mean that you went out and purchased a server and hired an outsourced IT guy to come in and set it up. After a few years the server would become obsolete or overloaded and a new server would have to be purchased and it was a painful expensive process. Today there are cloud based file services as cheap as $5 per user. It enables a company to use a single, centralized way to manage files. I'm not talking about some complicated to set up AWS solution but an actual file service that makes it easy for a business with no expertise to migrate to a cloud environment. Allow them to enjoy the benefits of end to end security, improved performance, and handle numerous native OS environments enabling the use of many devices. Cloud file services are flexible and will reduce cost by eliminating the need to independently deploy and manage on premise equipment. A word of caution however don't go for the free tools that are out there our you'll lose all your security and control. Make sure it’s a business grade solution.
Technology is enabling small businesses to compete and in some cases take over industries (think Uber) because large enterprise is not agile enough to adopt new technology. Keep your business competitive by staying on top of technology. The cost of telecom has dropped to the point that many business expense dollars have been freed up to pursue newer technologies that improve your business. Stay informed about new technologies and invest in improving your business rather than stick a few extra dollars in your pocket and continue doing business the old way...or some millennial may just take your market share.
